Adrianne Pinkney is a doctoral candidate at Emory University and her research interest is in civic education for minority and low-income students in charter schools. She has conducted qualitative and mixed method research in schools as well as supported several other large and small scale research projects and program evaluations. Her publications are in the history of civic education and teacher education. She earned a B.A. in political science with a minor in Women’s Studies from Spelman College. She continued her studies at the University of Georgia where she obtained her M.Ed in Social Studies Education and a certificate in Women’s Studies.
