Nia Amina Mae Brown, J.D. has a dynamic career in program, organization and community development, leadership, communications, problem-solving, team and partnership building, recruitment, and project management.

Nia is a certified Weikart Center Youth Program Quality External Assessor, Trainer and Coach.

As an HTI Cataylst, she excelled in coaching leaders, executives and professionals in areas of professional and leadership development and program quality evaluation and improvement.

While serving as Acting/Interim Executive Director of a School Climate Coalition with the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, Nia was instrumental in increasing awareness of Georgia Appleseed data, reports, initiatives and the “school to prison pipeline” phenomena as well as effective strategies to ensure the “school to success pipeline.” Her recent accomplishments and awards include developing and managing a new Communities in Schools affiliate to accreditation, an Exemplary Leadership Award from Colonial School District, and the Best Practice in Leadership Coaching Award from HTI Catalysts for two years in a row.

Nia graduated from Penn State University with a B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She later graduated from Temple School of Law with a Jurist Doctor degree and practiced law as a prosecutor in Philadelphia, PA. She is a certified online instructor with Wilmington University teaching Public Speaking and Empowerment Strategies.

She is the proud mother of four grown children and two grandchildren.
