1. Be kinder in times of chaos and conflict. We all struggle — many times without anyone’s awareness of that struggle. There is always a moment in which you can serve someone else and it doesn’t cost anything to do so. Just be kind. 
  2. Learn more about those around you. There are people that we spend time with on a regular basis, some every day. Maybe it’s a co-worker, a family member, or a friendWe think we know them, but often we don’t. Make a conscious effort to get to know someone a little better. Ask them about their story. Give them the room to share whatever they are comfortable sharing. 
  3. Listen more. speak less. You’ve heard the phrase, 2 ears, one mouth. It’s a funny visual, but it makes sense. If it’s true that our physical body innately tells us exactly what to do, we can use it as a reminder. Take time to share your voice. But take double the time to listen to someone else’s.
